Brew & Farm News from Wishful Acres Farm & Brewery!  Open Wed & Sat this week, new Frozen Foods, family friendly!

We will have special OPEN Hours today, Wednesday, from 3:30-6:00!  Stop out for a pint or two, or take home some bottled beer or growler fills to make your Thanksgiving gathering extra special!  Did you know we're family friendly?!  Bring the kids & grandchildren, they'll enjoy our homemade root beer!  We'll also be open our regular hours on Saturday from 11-6 -  Map & Directions on our web site here.  

In Farm news, there will be plenty of farm fresh foods available for purchase in our store & taproom today and Saturday!  Also, we have now unveiled our line of farm Frozen Foods!  Details are below, and everything is available in our store & taproom.  CSA members, I look forward to seeing the full share members & Group B half-share members you for pickup today instead of the normal Thursday schedule!  Lastly, our Winter CSA program begins in 3 weeks.  You can join us for the winter - our Winter Micro-Greens CSA Sign-up is now open! Tap Room & Store
In our Tap Room this week, open to the public Saturdays 11 am- 6 pm, we will be pouring fresh from our taps:
  • Overcast (Hefeweizen style German wheat beer)
  • Wookies Win (Mild Brown Ale with toffee & caramel flavors)
  • Jack-O-Java (Pumpkin Coffee Spice Ale, award winning beer!) 
  • Red Five I.P.A. (American Red I.P.A.)
  • Honey Wheat Ale (Mild, very drinkable, organic wheat ale)
  • Dark Side Stout
  • Apple Cider Ale (sweet hard apple cider ale)
  • Homemade Root Beer (non-alcoholic)
In addition to fresh beer by the glass, we also have growlers & bottled beer available for carry-out on select styles of beer!  We also have Unicorn Tears & 3PO available in bottles, even though these beers are both sold-out in fresh draft.

In our Store & taproom this week, open to the public Saturdays 11 am- 6 pm, we will have the following foods available from our farm!  All grown right here, all USDA Certified Organic, all washed & ready to eat!
  • Lettuce - fresh from our greenhouse
  • Spinach - fresh from our greenhouse
  • Hakurei - delicious, sweet & mild Japanese radishes - delicious raw with dip!
  • Carrots
  • Garlic
NEW!  Our line of farm Frozen Foods, all grown & processed right here all summer long, frozen at the peak of ripeness:
  • Frozen heirloom tomatoes
  • Frozen Basil Pesto
  • Frozen Sweet Peppers (green & yellow)

Sign-up now open for Winter Micro-Greens CSA
Join us in eating Fresh, Local, and Organic all winter long with our indoor greenhouse-grown Micro-Greens!  These are grown right here on our farm, all winter long, and provided to our Winter Micro-Greens CSA Members (Community Supported Agriculture).  Want to learn more about our micro-greens?  Right here!
CSA Member Share News
CSA Members, the full shareholders & Group B half-shareholders are scheduled for pickup here at the farm today (Wednesday) between 3:30-5:30.  This week you'll receive:
  • Carrots
  • Rutabaga 
  • Turnips
  • Lettuce 
  • Lettuce (yes 2 bags this week of our tender greenhouse lettuce!)
  • Spinach
  • Potatoes (fresh, crisp potatoes, keep refrigerated)  
  • Hakurei (mild Japanese white radishes/salad turnips, enjoy raw with dip or on salads)
  • Garlic
  • Choice item - a mix of different veggies, members choose one
As we wind down towards the end of the 2016 CSA season, a quick reminder of the remaining pickup dates:
- * Wednesday, Nov 23 - Group B & Full Shareholders (due to Thanksgiving, Wednesday pickup)
- Thursday, Dec 1 - Group A & Full Shareholders - Final Pickup for Group A
- Thursday, Dec 8 - Group B & Full Shareholders - Final Pickup for Group B & Full Shareholders

"Beer Share" News:

"Beer Share" Community Supported Brewery (CSB) Members, fill your growlers today 3:30-6 or Saturday 11-6!   Remember, you may fill as many growlers as you like during your visit - you're not limited to just one.  Bring in your empty growlers, and we'll mark off your punch cards.  All the beers in our taproom are available in growler fills this week.

We offer gift certificates for sale!  These can be used towards the purchase of anything we sell in our store & taproom, including all farm products (fresh & frozen vegetables, CSA memberships), fresh tap beer, bottled beer, growlers & growler fills, apparel (shirts, sweatshirts), tours, and more!
Bottled Beer!

We hand-bottle & hand-label our beer into large 22-oz "Bomber" bottles.  These bottles are for sale in our taproom, and also at the following select retail locations:

This week's featured recipe is Mashed Rutabaga from Food Network, pictured above - link to recipe here!  CSA Members, you can also add your potatoes & turnips to make a mashed medley.

 Roasted Root Vegetable Stuffing -  CSA members feel free to substitute veggies in & out of this recipe, you can use all of the root vegetables from this week's share: carrots, rutabaga, turnips.
