New beer release, Thanksgiving recipes, Veggie Shares, Winter Micro-greens

This weekend, we'll be unveiling "Overcast", our Hefeweizen style beer.  Hefeweizen is a German-style wheat beer meaning "with yeast", and is naturally cloudy in appearance.  Boasting tons of the German weizen flavor, if you've been enjoying 3PO, our Krystalweizen, you'll love Overcast, our Hefeweizen.  Join us in trying Overcast as well as our other craft beers and homemade root beer.  Also, don't forget to grab a bottle or growler fill of Jack-O-Java, our Pumpkin Coffee Spice Ale, or a growler fill of our Homemade Root Beer as these make an absolutely perfect accompaniment to your Thanksgiving meal!  We'll be open on Saturday from 11-6 -  Map & Directions on our web site here.

In Farm news, our CSA members are still receiving their weekly shares, chock full of fresh food from our farm!  Yes, there are still tons of fresh veggies growing here, both in our gardens with foods that can withstand colder outdoor temperatures as well as inside our passive-solar-greenhouse!  Our CSA ends in early December, and then we switch over to our indoor-greenhouse-grown micro-greens CSA all winter long (December through April).  We really do grow year-round right here on our farm!  You can join us for the winter - our Winter Micro-Greens CSA Sign-up is now open! Join us in eating fresh, local, and organic from our farm all winter long.  You can sign-up online or in our taproom.  Details here.

This Thanksgiving season we're incredibly thankful for all of you, our customers!!!  A huge, heartfelt thank you to all of your for filling our taproom every Saturday & far exceeding our expectations for this brewery, and for our farm members for buying each & every one of our available CSA memberships.  THANK YOU!!!

"Beer Share" News:

"Beer Share" Community Supported Brewery (CSB) Members, there is a new beer this week - a Hefeweizen - "Overcast".  You will have first access to this beer during the Thursday 3:30-5:30 members-only time slot!   Remember, you may fill as many growlers as you like during your visit - you're not limited to just one.  Bring in your empty growlers, and we'll mark off your punch cards.  All the beers in our taproom are available in growler fills this week.

Our "Beer Share", aka CSB Program (Community Supported Brewery) is an ongoing membership program that offers members a 1-year supply of our beer at discounted prices, plus additional discounts & benefits.  Learn more on our web site: http://www.wishfulacresfarm.com/csb-program
We are now serving food in our taproom!  Our cheese & sausage plate features local cheeses from Torkelson Cheese factory in Lena, and local sausage from AJ's Lena Maid Meats, and accompanied by a medley of crackers.  Great to munch on while enjoying our craft beers!  Also, we're offering Mrs. Mike's snack foods - local-made potato chips, pretzels, and cheese popcorn!
Our Bottled Beer!

We hand-bottle & hand-label our beer into large 22-oz "Bomber" bottles.  These bottles are for sale in our taproom, and also at the following select retail locations:

THANKSGIVING RECIPES!!!

You won't believe how delicious this one is, I made it countless times last winter!  You can use turnips, rutabaga, or both in this absolutely delicious creamy, cheesy recipe from Pioneer Woman, Turnip Gratin, that turns an everyday vegetable like turnips into something absolutely amazing (and rutabaga works equally well, trust me!).  This recipe pairs well with these beers from our brewery: Overcast Hefeweizen and Honey Wheat Ale.

One of my favorites, Roasted Root Vegetable Stuffing -  CSA members feel free to substitute veggies in & out of this recipe, you can use all of the root vegetables from this week's share: carrots, rutabaga, turnips.   This recipe pairs well with these beers from our brewery: Jack-O-Java, Wookie Wins, and Dark Side Stout.

And lastly, from Southern Living, a Roasted Root Vegetables side dish for Thanksgiving.   This recipe pairs well with these beers from our brewery: Jack-O-Java, Wookie Wins, and Dark Side Stout.
