News from the Farm Spring planting is underway full force here at Wishful Acres Farm & Brewery!  Our outdoor gardens are being tilled & planted, and our passive-solar-heated greenhouse is full of growing salad greens.  In greenhouse flats, the garden transplants - tomatoes, peppers, and much more - are growing larger every day.  We'll have a lot of fresh veggies ready soon, because our CSA Program begins in just over a month!  Be sure to join soon to receive our fresh vegetables.  Visit our web site CSA page here to learn more & select your payment option. In other news, our expansion project is moving along nicely!  The area of our barn that will become the retail location for the farm & brewery is almost complete.  This area will be used starting in May as our new & improved CSA pickup location (by fall we'll have it open to the public as well as a farm store & brewery).  The next step in our expansion project is the brewery & kitchen phase of the barn remodel, which begins this week with our plumber's portion of the work.  We're still on track to have the brewery & retail store open to the public by fall, so keep tuned for more details! Recipe Corner! Penny's Favorite Summer Rice Veggie Salad As the spring greens come into season, I always thing of this delicious recipe.  I developed this recipe several years ago and it has never failed me in it's simplicity and changeability.  You can literally add any raw vegetable or green to this dish and it's delicious no matter what!
