We hope you all had a happy Independence Day!  It's hard to believe that summer is going by so fast! This Sunday, July 14, from 1-5 pm, stop out for some real smoked BBQ!  Hammered Swine BBQ will be here selling their delicious smoked meat creations: BBQ Chicken, Pulled Pork, and Racks of Ribs (details below)! Members of our farm's CSA Program, you'll start to see summer's first true abundance in your vegetable share this week!  The list of items you're receiving is enormous; scroll down to see it! Lastly, we still have a bit of Jalapeno Ale left!  Stop out on Friday if you want to ensure yours... we're not sure how long it will last! Cherry Ale - fruit beer (supply getting low) El Dorado - Pale Ale Smart A** - Wit Bier (supply getting low) Simowa - IPA (supply getting low) Overcast - Hefezeizen German-style Chocolate Donut Imperial Stout (supply getting low) Peach Mango Ale - fruit beer Kilted Tartan - Scotch Ale 70-Shilling style Honey Wheat - mild & easy drinking! Homemade Root Beer (non-alcoholic) In addition to fresh beer by the glass, we also have growler fills available for carry-out!   Hammered Swine BBQ! Sunday, July 14 from 1-5 pm, join us for some really delicious smoked meat BBQ!  Hammered Swine BBQ will be here selling their delicious meat creations.  This time around, they're featuring: - Pulled Pork Sandwiches  - BBQ Chicken - boneless skinless chicken thighs - Ribs - sold by the whole rack only, one rack feeds 2-3 people, and there are only a limited number of racks available.  (First come, first served on these St. Louis-style spare ribs) Upcoming Events at Wishful Acres Farm & Brewery!   July 14: Food Truck Sunday, 1-5 pm - Hammered Swine BBQ  July 19: Hot Sauces from 5-7 on this Friday night with Sean of Brandt's Wicked Pissah Hot Sauces Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Member News Farm Members, please refer to your pickup schedules.  In this week's share: Grean Beans - First of the season!  You'll each get a nice big bag full of these gems!  Great steamed, boiled, roasted... fresh green beans are delicious any way you like them! Cucumbers - First of the season!  Fresh, crunchy, and thin-skinned.  Awesome! Broccoli - The first harvest of broccoli!  Great raw, steamed, roasted... you name it!  We all know how good broccoli is for us.  :) Zucchini / Summer Squash - The first harvest of zucchini & summer squash, and you'll each receive a nice amount of these beauties!   Zucchini is delicious cooked, but it can also be eaten raw on salads & with dips! Basil - YUM! There is nothing like fresh basil.  So delicious used fresh & raw on sandwiches, salads, pizza, pesto, you name it! Knob Onions - You'll have both Red & White onions in your share, with the green tops attached as well, so everything is edible.  A knob onion is so called because the onion is not yet fully mature, but more of a "knob" size, but harvested now while the green tops are also still growing & edible. Swiss Chard - FINALLY, the deer have stayed out of the Swiss Chard long enough for it to grow large enough to harvest!   Deer love this crop, but it's super delicious and healthy for humans, too!  :) Sugar Snap Peas - This is the final harvest of the sugar snap peas.  They have stopped producing for the year.  Kale - Super delicious in a kale soup or kale salad, or try a recipe for kale chips!  This leafy green vegetable is super healthy. Kohlrabi - The last Kolhrabi of the season!  Simply peel the skin off the kohlrabi, then slice or chop it.  The flavor reminds me of a mix between carrot and cabbage.  It's delicious raw, or with a dip or on a salad.  Garlic Scapes - A gourmet treat! The fresh top of the garlic plant. Use as you would fresh onion or garlic. Dill - The last dill of the season.  Fresh Dill!  Great in dips, on sandwiches & salads.
