*Nitro* Stout + 🍀 St. Patrick's Day + Chili Day + more Brew & Farm News from Wishful Acres!

This Friday, we're tapping a very special beer release for St. Patrick's Day!  Our brand new beer, "Caramel Oatmeal Stout", will be released... and the first 2 kegs of this beer will be served on Nitro!  Stop out this Friday, 4-9, to get your taste!  (Sorry, no growler fills of the nitro version.)  After the first 2 nitro kegs are gone, we'll simply switch over to the regular kegs of this brand new stout, and then we can fill to-go growlers.  After the Nitro version is gone, we'll switch to the regular Co2 version, so one of them will be on for St. Patrick's Day on Saturday as well!  What is nitro?  Read below!

We have some upcoming events!  Read below for info on our final Beer Chili Day of the season, plus details about this weekend's pub crawl and a sign painting event.  Lastly, we'll be closed on Sunday, April 1 for Easter.
Thanks & see you all soon!

Wishful Acres Farm & Brewery - taproom open Fridays 4-9, Saturdays 12-9, Sundays 12-5
Tap Room Bar at our Brewery
In our Tap Room this weekend, open Fridays 4-9 pm, Saturdays 12-9 pm, and Sundays 12-5 pm, we will be pouring fresh from our taps:
  • Caramel Oatmeal Stout - a rich stout with lots of caramel flavor
  • Alt Nation Tart - a slightly tart beer for those sour beer lovers
  • Midget Cyclops -  our new IPA!
  • Unicorn Tears - unique flavored copper colored ale
  • Mixed Berry Ale - a sweeter style fruit beer
  • Sternenlicht - light colored, mild German-style bier
  • The TRILOGY - Belgian Tripel-style Ale, brewed with spices & Belgian yeast
  • Homemade Root Beer (non-alcoholic)
In addition to fresh beer by the glass, we also have growler fills available for carry-out!
Our new creation... Caramel Oatmeal Stout!

This Friday, we'll be tapping our brand new beer, Caramel Oatmeal Stout, in honor of St. Patrick's Day!  Full of caramel & toffee notes. The first 2 kegs will be on *Nitro*!  This is our first Nitro beer; we're installing the equipment today in preparation for this event!  We won't be able to fill growlers since it's a nitro beer, and we'll have the nitro version on while it lasts.  Once the Nitro version runs out, we'll then simply switch over the regular, non-nitro version of this beer!

What is Nitro?  I'm sure you're familiar with Guinness beer, which is always served on Nitrogen, or Nitro.  This is the most famous beer to be served on Nitrogen.  Typically, all draft beer is served on Co2 (including ours).  Here is the main difference between Nitrogen & Co2 draft beer, courtesy of Google:

When a beer poured through a standard CO2 tap system is compared to the same beer served on a nitrogen system, you'll have a much different sensory experience. The main difference is mouthfeel. Traditional CO2 beers have a much greater carbonic bite compared to the much smoother Nitro series. The addition of Nitrogen to a beer gives way to much smaller bubbles, creating a smoother, creamier experience.
Upcoming Events at Wishful Acres:

  • Friday, March 16 - Nitro beer tapping - Caramel Oatmeal Stout
  • Sunday, April 1 - closed for Easter Sunday
  • Sunday, April 7 - Highland College/ Sunny Hill sign painting class
  • Sunday, April 8 - Beer Chili Day (final Beer Chili Day of the season!)
  • Friday, May 4 - "May the Fourth Be With You" Star Wars-themed celebration
Wishful Acres will be hosting a Highland Community College (HCC) class on Saturday, April 7 from 11-2.  The class is part of HCC's Continuing Education series, and HCC has partnered with Sunny Hill Craft Company for this class.  Details are below on the flyer.  Contact Highland Community College to register for this class at 815-235-6121.
