Brew & Farm News: New IPA Beer, Salad greens, Cherry Cider Ale, Soup Recipes & more!

Our brand New I.P.A. - style beer is ready!  It's called "Alderaan IPA", and You'll be Blown Away! (a bit of dark Star Wars humor there)!  In all seriousness, this is Nate's brand-new beer recipe, and he thinks it's the best IPA beer he's ever brewed.  We also have a new Cherry Cider Ale on tap.  We hope you can stop in this Saturday to give these & our other beers a try! In Farm news, this may be the last week for greenhouse salad greens, so stop in to our taproom & store to buy yours!  The weather is predicted to drop below zero next week, and those low temps will kill off the cold-tolerant salad greens that have been growing away in our passive-solar-heated greenhouse.  Hello, winter.  Our CSA Members will be picking up their final share of the season this week, and the Winter Micro-Greens CSA begins next week! Lettuce - fresh from our greenhouse Spinach - fresh from our greenhouse Hakurei - delicious, sweet & mild Japanese radishes - delicious raw with dip! Garlic NEW!  Our line of farm Frozen Foods, all grown & processed right here all summer long, frozen at the peak of ripeness: Frozen heirloom tomatoes Frozen Basil Pesto Frozen Sweet Peppers (green & yellow) Frozen shredded Zucchini Lettuce growing inside our passive-solar-heated greenhouse (in early December, 20 degree outside)! Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) - Farm Member Share News CSA Members, the full shareholders & Group B half-shareholders are scheduled to pick up your vegetable shares here at the farm today (Thursday) between 3:30-5:30.  This is your final share of the season (where did the time go?!).  Don't forget, root vegetables will store just fine for many weeks in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator (keep them inside the plastic bags we package them in).  This week you'll receive: Lettuce (fresh from our greenhouse) Rutabaga  Turnips Black Radishes (best eaten very thinly sliced or grated, have many health benefits!) Potatoes (fresh, crisp potatoes, keep refrigerated)   Hakurei (mild Japanese white radishes/salad turnips, enjoy raw with dip or on salads) Garlic Root Vegetable choice item - a mix of different root veggies, members choose one Frozen Green Pepper Slices - great for cooking with all winter long!
