Harvesting apples & peaches today from our farm's orchard

Today was the big "our family's share" of the apple harvest day. Our Community Supported Agriculture (csa) members have received our orchard's apples & peaches for a few weeks. Now, it was time for our family's share!

I will spend some time canning in the upcoming week. Apple sauce & apple butter are in the plans.

In spite of the drought, our little orchard produced so much fruit! I hope to get enough apples canned & peaches frozen to last us for a couple of years. Always good to plan ahead, apple trees don't produce like this every year!
