Cinnamon Spiced Pear Sauce - oh my!

.
Ooh, the smells & tastes of fall cooking!  This one was a big hit in our house.

Cinnamon Spiced Pear Sauce
-Fresh pears
-Water
-Sugar
-Cinnamon

I didn't peel the pears, because I take every shortcut I can, but the choice is yours - peel if desired.  The whole pot gets pureed at the end, so peeling really isn't necessary (in my mind).  Hey, I feel glad to get any of this done with 3 little boys fighting, whining, destroying the house, and wanting to be held (while I'm cooking)!  Peels it is!  :-)

Cut pears to remove core.  Toss into pot.  As many pears as you like.  Then add enough water to cover the bottom of the pot 1"-2" deep.  This will make a very thick pear sauce, so there isn't much water.

Cook for an hour or two, stirring occasionally, until pears are soft.  Then get out the stick blender (immersion blender) and puree it.  Add sugar and cinnamon to taste.  Start with a small amount, keep tasting, and add more until you reach the amount you like.  Better too little than too much!

Freezes well or you could can it.  I chose freezing (see above, under *3 little boys*).

Enjoy!
