These are a few of my "Black Beauty" variety Eggplant
seedlings. I planted these seeds back around February 5 in large
pots. They took over 2 weeks to sprout, but are doing well now. The
"Rosa Bianca" variety Eggplant haven't sprouted yet, and they were
planted on the same day. I read that they take approximately 3 weeks
to sprout, so I'm trying not to worry about it yet, but (((wow))) they
take a long time to appear!
The boys have been
"helping" me plant (read: making a big mess), but it's worth the mess
to teach them how to grow the seeds. I'm worrying that maybe the Rosa
Bianca eggplant seeds got planted too deep, but that really doesn't
seem possible as the boys are really careful about planting at the
correct depth. Hopefully they'll show themselves soon.
Here
is a picture of my "Black Beauty" eggplants! Hard to believe that
something this small will grow large enough to grow eggplant. It
always amazes me.
Hooray, and I like your new header!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing... I have a question. Did you plant the seeds into a large pot and divide the seedlings with plastic cups? Seems like a nifty idea. Would love to learn a bit more about growing from seeds. :)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing those little tiny sprouts grow into fruit bearing size, always amazing!
ReplyDeleteOur seeds are sprouting, too :) .
