I have been so excited to grow this corn. I've been waiting since last summer, when I first saw it in a seed catalog.
It's called "Japonica Striped Corn" and it's an ornamental (non-edible) corn. Just for show. And boy, what a show. It's beautiful! I planted it here at home, rather than the farm, to better watch and enjoy it. This was a mistake as the squirrels dug up all but two of them.
The one surviving plant is gorgeous. The leaves are striped in pink, yellow, green, and white.

Huh, that's really pretty!
