There are other organic CSA (Communtiy Supported Agriculture) farms in the area. For those not familiar with a CSA program: people buy a "share" of the farm's produce. This is an up-front flat fee and in return they receive a "share" of the farm's vegetables each week (about 1 paper grocery bag filled to the brim each week, with a newsletter of recipes).
Okay, so let's compare the other CSA programs with ours! We're very comparable - and all CSA programs are a GREAT deal!
Wishful Acres (Lena, IL) - serving Freeport & surrounding area. Free on-farm or farmers market pickup or home delivery ($3 per week). $30 per week for a full share.
Angelic Organics (Caledonia, IL) - serving Rockford & Chicago. Pickup site (free) or delivery for $7 per week. $35 for a full share per week for pickup option.
Tomato Mountain Farm (Brooklyn, WI) - serving Chicago. Home delivery at $8 per week. Full share costs $45 per week for pickup option.
Two Onion Farm (Belmont, WI) - serving Galena, Dubuque, and Madison. Pickup site only. $40 per week, pickup option only.
First Hand Harvest (Rockford, IL) - serving Rockford. $30 per week, pickup option only.
Vermont Valley Community Farm (Blue Mounds, WI) - serving Madison. $35 per week, pickup option only.
These other farms are awesome, I've visited half of them and know many of the farmers. Their products are all wonderful, and comparable to ours at Wishful Acres. Just wanted you to see that our farm does offer great value for your money (as does any CSA, really!).
