Hi there, yes I make soap and love it! Beware it does become addictive. The best advice I can give you is have fun with it! I think the whole tracing part is what gets people. My soap does not always trace like the directions say. I pour it and it always sets up. Just as long as it looks like pudding starting to set you are good to go. Just do not stir for hours. My friend did this and never wants to make soap again. If you go to my country blog of this and that she has alot of good posts about soap. Also on facebook there is a page soapmaking for beginners which is also good. Find a recipe you like then stick with it. Trying to make lots of different ones becomes overwhelming. Hope this helps a little. If you have any questions I would be glad to try and help. My email is rhoover@cbpu.com. Have a great day. Rebekah
I've been wanting to try soap, it's on the list, just haven't gotten to it yet.
What is your thinking these days re MOSES? I'm still on the fence. I did reserve a room for Thurs & Fri night ($99/night). I think I will re-review the schedule tonight. Let me know if you've made a decision.
Hi Angie, I'm thinking no on Moses. Just don't see how I could schedule the kids around it. I looked on a map and saw how far away it really is! Yikes. Penny
I'm so glad you said that. I think I'll skip this year too. I want to save my vaca days for working/planting at the farm. I'm going to cancel the hotel. It was a great time and super motivating last year so maybe I'll consider it next year.

My mom used to make lye soap when I was a kid...I remember it being stinky and messy, but pretty cool! I'll keep checking in to see how it goes...
ReplyDeleteI have been making soap for years now. It is very addicting. I refuse to let me family by any soap from the store. Good Luck with learning!
