Crocheted Snowflake Pattern (similar to one above)

Materials: size 7 steel hook (US) Crochet thread, white Special Stitch: 3-picot-group: ch 6, sl in 3rd ch from hook-picot, (ch 3 sl in 3rd ch from hook) twice, sl in 2nd ch of ch 6, ch 2

Ch 4, join Round 1: ch 3 (counts as 1st hdc, ch1), (hdc, ch 1) 7 times, join to 2nd ch of beg ch 3. (8 ch 1 spaces) Round 2: sl st to ch 1 space, ch 4 (counts as 1st hdc, ch2), (hdc,ch2 in next sp) 7 times, join to 2nd ch of beg ch 4. (8 ch 2 spaces) Round 3: ch 1, sc in joining st, (3-picot-group, sc in next hdc) around. (8 3-picot-groups) Finish off. Options: This pattern works with size 10 cotton thread as well with a size 7 (US) steel hook. You can also make this with 6 points instead of 8, in rounds 1 and 2, do the repeat 5 times.
