Today is the first official day of school. My oldest son is in first grade and will be riding the bus this year. Here he was this morning, waiting for the bus and jumping on as soon as it arrived.
Who missed him the most? This little guy was really confused! He wondered why his oldest brother left on a big yellow bus and where he was....?
While today is the first official day of school, yesterday we had orientation. The parents take the children to school during a scheduled time to "meet the teacher". We have 2 sons in school this year - our middle son is starting preschool. So they both posed for a picture yesterday in their school clothes. The baby didn't want to be left out, and insisted on standing with them as well! He was the most excited of them all, which is hilarious considering he has no idea what is going on, lol! :-)
Now, in case you're wondering why I've labeled this post "3 cheers for the parents", let me tell you what it is like being mother to 3 little boys... Boys are by nature very active and aggressive. If they are not kept busy at all times they will destroy everything in their path while climbing onto the top of the refrigerator, tops of doors, swinging from the chandelier, swinging from the curtains, cutting the curtains with scissors, cutting the couch with a box cutter... you get my drift. Then, after they've destroyed everything and become bored, they turn their aggression onto each other. Mass beatings of each other. Punching, pushing, kicking, biting, pinching, knocking.... you see where I'm going. There is just a wee bit too much testosterone in this house.
It makes it very difficult for me to get anything done, let alone keeping my sanity, while breaking up boxing matches all day long.
So now I am going to finish enjoying my coffee and get to work canning some green salsa. The two little boys (preschool doesn't start until next week) can help husk the tomatillos. It will be easier to manage the fights between just two of them, I hope...
and let me get some things done!
So 3 cheers for me.
